The more you sit, the more susceptible you are to CTD (Cumulative Trauma Disorder) injuries. Use these tips to maintain an ergonomic, neutral position while seated at your workstation – and protect your entire body:
Optimize Your View: Keep your head level or tilted slightly downward, with your work directly in front of you.
Relax Your Shoulders: Sit with your shoulders relaxed, not elevated, hunched or rotated forward.
Position Your Elbows and Wrists Correctly: Keep your elbows close to your body and bent at about 90 degrees. Ensure your wrists are straight, not bent up, down or to the side.
Support Your Back: Sit upright or lean slightly back, using your chair's backrest to support your lower back.
Adjust Seat and Leg Position: Ensure your knees are level with or slightly below your hips using a well-padded seat.
Vary Your Tasks: Intersperse sedentary tasks with more mobile activities throughout your day.
